Welcome to AI Storysmith. By downloading, installing, or using the AI Storysmith iOS application ("the app"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the app.

1. Description of Service

AI Storysmith is an iOS application that uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized stories and provide AI-powered voice narration. The app allows users to create characters, select genres, and produce original stories with audio narration.

2. AI-Generated Content

Stories and narration produced by AI Storysmith are generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude API for text, Speechify for voice). AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies, unexpected results, or content that does not match your expectations. You are responsible for reviewing all generated content before sharing or distributing it.

You retain ownership of the stories you create using the app, including the specific character details and prompts you provide. The AI-generated text and audio are provided for your personal use.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

AI Storysmith Pro (Auto-Renewable Subscription)

• AI Storysmith Pro is available as a monthly auto-renewable subscription at $4.99/month (USD).
• The subscription unlocks unlimited story creation, access to all genres, and voice narration.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions at any time.
• Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Narration Time Add-on (Consumable Purchase)

• Additional narration time can be purchased as a one-time consumable in-app purchase at $2.99 for 40 minutes.
• Consumable purchases are non-refundable and cannot be transferred between Apple IDs.
• Purchased narration time does not expire.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use AI Storysmith to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits, quotas, or subscription requirements.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the app.
• Use the app for any commercial purpose beyond personal story creation without prior written consent.

5. Intellectual Property

The AI Storysmith app, including its design, code, icons, and branding, is the intellectual property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these Terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

6. Disclaimers

AI Storysmith is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
• AI-generated stories will be accurate, appropriate, or meet your specific requirements.
• The voice narration service will be available at all times.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

8. Third-Party Services

AI Storysmith relies on third-party services (Anthropic Claude API, Speechify) for core functionality. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services. Disruptions to these services may affect app functionality.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the app at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device and cancelling any active subscriptions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.
